Spicy Chicken Sammie
Hot, Fresh, Cheesy Goodness is the best way to describe this smoked & spicy chicken sandwich recipe!
Ingredients
Chicken Sandwiches & Hot Sauce Glaze
4 french rolls
4 chicken breasts
blazing star all in one rub (your favorite chicken rub will do)
italian blend shredded cheese
2 tbsp. butter
measure with your heart- hot sauce (we used Mark's Good Stuff Tex mex Hot Sauce)
measure with your heart- kinders fire roasted jalapeno wing sauce
measure with your heart-salt
measure with your heart-pepper
measure with your heart-garlic seasoning
* when we say "measure with your heart" it is because so much of this is personal preference. want your sauce a little less spicy? do less hot sauce & more wing sauce or vice versa. you get the idea!
Spicy Ranch Sauce
1 ranch seasoning packet
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup whole milk
2 tbsp. kinders fire roasted jalapeno wing sauce or other sauce of choice. (for this recipe a wing sauce worked perfect!)
Instructions
Chicken & Hot Sauce How To:
set smoker to 275 degrees
season chicken breasts with favorite rub (we used blazing star all in one rub)
in an oven/grill safe bowl or saucepan combine hot sauce, wing sauce, salt, pepper, & garlic seasoning to your liking and top with 2 tablespoons of butter
place chicken and grill safe hot sauce bowl or saucepan on the smoker, generously coating the chicken every 30 minutes in the hot sauce mixture (while keeping everything on the smoker, we used tongs to pick up each chicken breast individually and dipped each side of the chicken breast in the hot sauce mixture)
smoke chicken for roughly 1.5 hours or until internal temp reaches 165 degrees
once chicken has reached an internal temp of 165 degrees, remove chicken from smoker and slice
Ranch Seasoning & Sammie How To:
set oven to 400 degrees
while the chicken is on the smoker make the spicy ranch seasoning. combine ranch seasoning packet with 1 cup whole milk, 1 cup mayonnaise and 2 tbsp of kinders wing sauce mix well
toast the french rolls. we toasted all sides of the rolls on the stovetop using a bit of PAM spray and a flat pan
using a non stick baking sheet, start crafting your sandwich. place open french rolls onto baking sheet. top with sliced chicken and italian cheese. pop in the oven until cheese melts.
generously coat the chicken & cheese with the spicy ranch dressing. the french rolls we used were very large so we used quite a bit of dressing!
ENJOY!
Notes
Please note that if you don't have the exact sauces or rubs that we recommend feel free to use your prefered choice!
The chicken by itself was very hot in this recipe but combined with the roll, cheese, & ranch dressing it was perfect!
